The Maggid of Dubno

Rabbi Jacob ben Wolf Kranz of Dubno (ר' יעקב קרנץ‎), the Dubner Maggid, was a Lithuania-born darshan (preacher) who lived from 1740 to 1804. A contemporary of the Vilna Gaon, the Maggid was renowned for his ability to construct beautiful meshalim (parables) to explain Torah concepts.
